HUMPHREY PROGRAM FELLOWSHIP

The Humphrey Program is a Fulbright exchange activity. About 200 Fellowships are primarily funded each year by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State aimed at engaging them in non-degree study and related professional experiences at selected American universities. Launched in 1978, the program now has a network of over 4,200 alumni in 157 countries around the world working to improve their communities and the lives of those in need.
Selected fellows are placed at one of eighteen American universities chosen for excellence in relevant Humphrey fields and for the resources and support they offer Humphrey Fellows. The host campus selection process is open to all universities. This year’s university competition is in the field of Substance Abuse Education, Treatment, and Prevention.
Basic Eligibility Criteria
  • an undergraduate (first university or Bachelor’s) degree
  • a minimum of five years of full-time, professional experience
  • limited or no prior experience in the United States

Scholarships for Masters’ Students of IIMs in Germany

Scholarship Description: To spend up to 1 semester at one of the cooperating Business Schools in Germany.MBA students from one of the Indian Institutes of Management .
Scholarship Value:
Stipend of Euro 750.00 per month
• Compulsory health insurance covered by DAAD
• Participation in Get-Together of the DAAD scholarship awardees
Requirements and Conditions
German language skills are not mandatory
• Candidates should be residing in India at the time of application. Candidates, who have been in Germany for more than one year at the time of application, are not eligible to apply.

Senior Fellowship in Clinical Trials





University of Nairobi, Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative (KAVI)

University of Nairobi, Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative (KAVI) and
International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is offering one (1) full scholarship for a senior fellowship training program in clinical trials.

The training consists of course work and practical experience in Kenya and Partner Institutions abroad.

The scholarship runs for 2 years and covers tuition fees, travel, accommodation and stipend.

Purpose of the Grant


The objective of this grant is to build clinical trial capacity by empowering health care professional with the skills required to conduct clinical trials in the region. The focus of the training will be in the areas of epidemiology, research design, research ethics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and data management.

Selection criteria:

Applicants should be:-
  • Kenyan National
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in medicine and at least three years working experience in clinical research. MPH students or degree holders will have an added advantage
  • Be willing to travel abroad for placement for several months for the course work.
  • An interest and/or previous experience in HIV vaccine research will be an added advantage.
  • KAVI encourages female candidates to apply for the fellowship

PhD Scholarship (Basic Science)

The training consists of a research project in HIV vaccine studies and oversees placement at partner Institutions. The scholarship runs for 4 years and covers tuition fees, travel, accommodation and stipend.

Selection criteria:

Applicants should be:-
  • Kenyan National
  • Have a master’s degree in any of the following fields in Sciences (Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry).
  • Eligible and willing to enroll for a PhD program with The University of Nairobi.
  • The research project must be in any of the following areas; Immunological responses to HIV infection or Mucosal immunity to HIV.
  • Be willing to travel abroad for placement
  • Be interested in HIV Vaccine research.
  • Be willing to be a full time student.
Application Procedure:

  • Application letter.
  • A three (3) page description of the student proposed research project in the following areas of research; Immunological responses to HIV infection or mucosal immunity to HIV.
  • Official academic transcript from the Institution(s) where the student received undergraduate and postgraduate training.

  • Three (3) letters of reference of which one must be from the supervisor.
PhD Scholarship (Social Science)

Social Scientist.

The training consists of a research project in HIV vaccine studies and oversees placement at partner Institutions. The scholarship runs for 4 years and covers tuition fees, travel, accommodation and stipend.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should be:-
  • Kenyan National
  • Have a master’s degree in any of the following fields (Public Health, Medical Anthropology, Medical Sociology, Population studies, Demography, Psychology)
  • Eligible and willing to enroll for a PhD program with The University of Nairobi.
  • The research project must be in any of the following areas; Community engagement in Vaccine trials.
  • Be willing to travel abroad for placement
  • Be interested in HIV vaccine research.
  • Be willing to be a full time student.
