REDR UK::SECURITY TRAINER/ COORDINATOR- KENYA AND SOUTH SUDAN

RedR and the work we do
Each year millions of people around the world feel the effects of natural disaster and conflict.RedR is an international charity thatimproves the effectiveness of disaster relief, helping save and rebuild the lives of people affected by disaster worldwide. We do this by
delivering essential training and support to relief organisations and their staff, and by supplying skilled professionals to humanitarian
programmes. Our work helps to ensure that the right people with the right skills are responding to global emergencies, and enables
both local and international relief workers to react to the needs of those affected by disaster, efficiently and safely.
In response to recent humanitarian catastrophes, we currently have training and local capacity building programmes in Sudan in
response to the increasing destabilisation of the region and in Pakistan, as a result of the heightened insecurity in the country, as well as
the severe flooding in 2010. In line with our strategic vision, further international programme offices are expected to be opened in the
coming years.

Background
RedR UK have received funding to establish a country programme in South Sudan (Juba based) managed from Nairobi. The
programme will employ about 35 national and international staff and deliver a number of training events to NGO staff, their partner
organisations and other relevant humanitarian actors concerning Staff Welfare, Security Safety and Security and Technical/Basic
Humanitarian Practice.
